A rare B 25 seat machine, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928/29,
manufactured by Thonet, Frankenberg, c. 1930, variously adjustable tubular steel construction, woven cane seat and backrest, black stained wooden armrests, height approx. 108 cm, width approx. 60 cm, height of seat approx. 33 cm, depth 85 cm. (MHA)
This armchair was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928/29 and produced by Thonet only for a limited period. The B25 appeared for the first time in the Thonet factory catalogue of 1929/30, but was no longer reproduced in the 1935 catalogue. Model B25 was first presented at the 1930 Paris World’s Fair. It is part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
