Galerie Friederike Pallamar, Vienna (1973, as Reinier Covijn);
private collection, Vienna.
In the early 1970s, Prof. Sturla Gudlaugsson of the RKD, The Hague, attributed the painting to Reinier Covijn (1636-after 1667). Due to stylistic deviations primarily in the facial types, this attribution can no longer be upheld. We are grateful to Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, for his kind assistance in cataloguing the present painting.
