The present drawing is related to the painting "The Dream of Saint Joseph" in the church S. Maria Donnalbina in Naples (Cat. Bologna 1958, pl. 114). A comparable drawing to the painting is preserved in the National Gallery of Scotland, Inv. D 818. The present study is stilistically strongly influenced by Luca Giordano and like the painting may have been executed in the late 1690s. Literature:
