(Stribach bei Lienz 1868–1926 St. Justina bei Bozen) ‘Skizzenbuch I, 1879’, Sketch book of Josef Tschurtschenthaler, a fellow pupil of Albin Egger-Lienz, 8 pp. of the sketch book have been identified as by Albin Egger, on title p. a text explaining the circumstances by curator, W. Laber, Lienz 1927, all pp. are numbered consecutively, Images: p.4: group of figures, upper right: seated man, behind him an angel: in the centre: Jesus stripped of his garments; to the left: five men p.5: left: farmer with hat, half-length figure (tax collector); right: head of a soldier with a moustache in profile (poem) p.14: Andreas Hofer, drawing a sword (portrait format) p.23: crib; below: pointing hand; right: bagpipe player p.34: left: a full-length figure of a man with a staff; centre: man en face with large dog; right: walking man with sack hung around him, sticking out his tongue p.52: soldier with raised gun, behind him a cannon p.58: left: a standing man leaning with his hands on a stick; centre: walking man; upper right: the father of the artist p.59: left: three heads in profile and a man with a hat (full-length figure); right: large, en face: Pater Gabriel. All sketches in pencil, mounted below (new), sight area each c. 26.7 x 35.5 cm, recently bound, (K)
