Exhibition: Rassegna Nazionale di Arte figurative, Galleria d‘Arte Moderna, Rome 1947 (label on the reverse) Literature: exhibition catalogue Rassegna Nazionale di Arte figurative, Rome 1947, page 33, no. 7 Provenance: Private European collection Emilio Vedova grew up in Venice and was particularly inspired by Tintoretto; initially he was preoccupied with architecture. At the beginning of the 1940’s he was active in the artistic movement “Corrente“, whilst after the Second World War he belonged to the group “Fronte nuove delle arti“. During this second phase the Italian artist devoted himself to strong geometric shapes which, in the 1950’s, he broke down and dissolved.
