Pietro Fragiacomo: After a short period as a pupil at the Academy in Venice, Fragiacomo made his debut at the Turin art exhibition of 1880. After submitting works to exhibitions in Milan, Rome, Venice, and occasionally Paris and Berlin, his first major success came at the Brera exhibition of 1891. The landscapes he painted after this date demonstrate a steady deepening of mood, and many of them got in the property of museums in Italy and Berlin, and of the Italian monarchy. Fragiacomo was awarded medals in Paris in 1889 and 1900, documenting his success as an artist in France. (Compare: Thieme Becker, Künstlerlexikon, Leipzig 1916, Vol.12, p. 274.)
