Stephan Mautner was in a leading position in the enterprise of his father Isidor Mautner and engaged himself with painting (a pupil of Hugo Charlemont). In 1944 he and his wife were displaced to the concentration camp Auschwitz and killed there. Only a few works reached the art market, the majority is preserved in the Albertina, Vienna.
