freely adjustable box-shaped solid oak construction supported on six legs, brass slides and mounts, each of the beams marked with a serial number containing information as to the age, location, and size of the tree from which the beam was made, these numbered beams of solid wood functioning as drawers mounted on brass wheels and freely adjustable horizontally, height approx. 78 cm, depth approx. 37 cm, variable width. The ‘I-Joist’ sideboard, the dresser of beams, combines aestheticism and dynamism. Steven Banken studied at the Eindhoven Design Academy, from which he graduated in 2010. He opened his own design studio. His works were published by a number of national and international media and exhibited at various trade fairs. Steven Banken lives and works in the Netherlands.
