The present portrait study is related to the figure of Saint Marino in the painting “The Allegory of the Republic of San Marino” (1740) in the Pinacoteca Nazionale, San Marino. Another drawing with the same head and with an additional figure is preserved in the Royal Collection in Windsor Castle (Inv. RCIN 906732).
