Produced and published by the Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar. The portfolio originally comprised 14 graphics by R. Bauer, W. Baumeister, H. Campendonk, W. Dexel, O. Fischer, J. van Heemskerk, B. Hoetger, A. Macke, F. Marc, J. Molzahn,
K. Schwitters, F. Stuckenberg, A. Topp and W. Wauer. Potsdam, Müller 1921, L. Feininger designed the title and designed the font for table of contents, back cover etc.

“Between 1922 and 1923, the Bauhaus prints were made at the Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar. Neue Europäische Graphik «, presenting the graphics of the artistic avant-garde of Europe in a cross-section of many areas of contemporary art. From originally five planned portfolios four appeared with a total of 52 woodcuts, etchings, lithographs and linocuts. The »3rd Portfolio: German Artists« contains graphics by Rudolf Bauer, Willi Baumeister, Heinrich Campendonk, Walter Dexel, Oskar Fischer, Jacoba van Heemskerck, Bernhard Hoetger, August Macke, Franz Marc, Johannes Molzahn, Kurt Schwitters, Fritz Stuckenberg and Arnold Topp and William Wauer. In addition to the artists invited to participate in the Bauhaus prints, the appeal also went to the estate administrators of five deceased: Umberto Boccioni, Wilhelm Lehmbruck, August Macke, Franz Marc, Wilhelm Morgner; except for Lehmbruck and Morgner they are represented with one sheet each. Franz Marc, killed by Verdun in 1916, sent his widow the last unpublished woodcut.”
