No. 16 Kambara Iwase no dai yori fujikawa kanbo (View of the Fuji River from Iwase in Kambara), from the series: "Gojusan tsugi Meisho Zue" (Famous Places of the 53 Tokaido Stations), nishiki-e, (translation of the title and sheet comparison, see British Museum London, Mus. No. 1915,0823, 0.737), signed Utagawa Hiroshige, publisher Tsutaya Kichizo (Kôeidô), aratame censor seal, date seal 1855 (Ansei 2, month 7), early print, the wood grain is visible at the top in the area of the bokashi of the sky as well as at the bottom in the grey of the sand, the present print corresponds in many details to the London print, the sheet has been backed, trimmed along the border lines (except for the upper edge of the sheet), signature cartouche and red in the horizon slightly faded, good impression and colours, minimal printing error at the left margin in the yellow, attached to support, 35.6 x 22.5 cm, mounted, (CT)
