before 1900, manufactured by Eisengusswerke Rudolph Philip Waagner for the Vienna Metropolitan Railway (Stadtbahn), plain iron construction, green lacquer coating (colour version after 1945), embossing, with two lateral pillars for mounting, fence elements: each height approx. 75 cm, width approx. 75 cm, depth approx. 8 cm, lateral pillars: each height approx. 104 cm. This type of railing, designed for the Vienna Metropolitan Railway (Stadtbahn) and also referred to as “Sunflower railing”, continues to be an eye-catcher in Vienna’s cityscape, but can also be found in railway stations of other cities across the former Habsburg monarchy, such as Bohumin, Brno, and Krakow.
