Collection Giorgio Dalla Balla (born in Venice in 1923), Lugt 3774; private property, Belgium.
The present study may have been executed in connection with the fresco by Paolo Farniati in the atrium of S. Bernardino monastery in Verona (c. 1592) which exists only partly today. Another preliminary drawing for the fresco is kept in the Albertina (Inv. 1593). Comp. L. Puppi, Paolo Farinati. Giornale (1573–1606), Florence 1968, p. 56, n. 1.
