Private collection, Austria.

The present drawings are copies after the drawings "An der Serpentare bei Olevano" and "Campagnalandschaft" by Friedrich Preller the Elder, which were made in 1870 and 1871 after the return of the artist from Italy in 1869. At that time Friedrich Preller the elder studied landscape in the surrounding of Rome together with his son Friedrich Preller the younger, who later repeated the motifs presumably in order to recall the weeks which he had spent together with his father in Italy
