in around 1950, for GETAMA, Denmark, sculptural four-legged structure made of chromium plated and dark varnished steel, flag halyard covering, bolster with dark brown leather cover, dimensions of chair: height c. 80 cm, width c. 105 cm, depth c. 118 cm, height of seat c. 40 cm; dimensions of ottoman: height c. 40 cm, width c. 72 cm, depth c. 62 cm. Signs of age and use, partly small losses (to the varnish), one halyard piece torn. (MHA)

A rare early model for GETAMA.

A rare set - especially the footstool is very rare.

The idea for this design idea came to Hans J. Wegner in 1949, during a stroll on the beach with his family. He was looking for the ideal leaning position for relaxed sitting on the beach. The result was the present implementation of this design.
