A Magnificent Baroque Cabinet on Chest,
so-called ‘Schreibtabernakel’, 18th century and later, type à trois corps, curved and angled front, curved side, mainly walnut veneer, fruitwood panel and band marquetry, chest with 3 large and 2 small drawers, 1 narrow drawer, curved fall-front with ornamentally carved lion motifs on the side, inner drawers and compartments, upper part with richly moulded and carved volute cornice with prominent middle section, 2 curved doors flanked by lesenes, inner drawers and compartments, revolving niche with 3 variants: 1) 3 drawers and 1 sham drawer, 2) mirror panel with drawer, and 3) picture insert with depiction of the Virgin and sham drawer, c. 217 x 120 x 65 cm, later veneer in places and some wood parts supplemented in the course of a previous restoration, in well-maintained condition.
