France 1947, square ceiling fixture, black lacquered metal frame, overlapping shades made of white and yellow acrylic, brass, old fixtures, height c. 130 cm, c. 14 x 12 cm. Without guarantee for electrical fitting.
Lacroix’s design of a lamp made of plexiglass tarpaulins was created at the same time as the radically modern ‘New Look’ of Christian Dior’s fashion, and anticipated the aesthetics of 1960s design.
