I don't keep track of my work because I don't remember a lot of it. I often surprise myself with what I have done. For example, I don't have the kind of overarching perspective that one can get by leafing through the monographs of a dead artist. I have always pored over whichever particular work of art currently fascinates and preoccupies me.
I also consciously try to forget my works in order to reinvent myself again and again. I have always worked against the danger of stopping at a certain artistic result. I have always driven myself to go further artistically. That's another reason why I don’t understand myself as a complete figure, because I don't see any coherence in my artworks.
