Note:
In this print Michelangelo Pistoletto reworks a pencil portrait of himself made by his father, Ettore Pistoletto Olivero, a restorer and painter, in 1933, when Michelangelo was just three months old. In 1973, Pistoletto took a photograph of this self-portrait and presented it under the title “Autoritratto attraverso mio padre” (Self-portrait through my father). Pistoletto would later use this portrait in many of his works.
