The portfolio 'Das Gesicht' comprises 9 etchings. According to the publisher's brochure, it was to be published in an edition of 65 copies on wove paper and 9 copies on Japan paper. However, according to Eckhardt, this edition was not printed in its entirety and only a small part was signed (Ferdinand Eckhardt, Das Graphische Werk von Walter Gramatte, Zürich/Leipzig/Wien 1932, p. 57)
