Wilhelm Richter war ein österreichischer Genre- und Militärmaler. Als Auftragsmaler hauptsächlich aristokratischer Kundschaft hinterließ er ein umfangreiches Oeuvre und war vor allem für seine schwungvollen Pferdedarstellungen bekannt.
