1977 Ferrari 308 GTB

1977 Ferrari 308 GTB - Autoveicoli d'epoca

German delivery via Auto Becker
Early carburettor model with dry sump lubrication
Family-owned up to 2007, original with 50,000 km!

The production of the 246 Dino ended in 1974, and the GT4 and its unique Bertone design and four seats did not really fill the gap left behind. Ferrari did not present a worthy successor until 1975: the 308 GTB. The V8 engine, 255 km/h speed and dry sump lubrication made hearts pound even faster, and the stunning design by Pininfarina was glorious. After making a few hundred units with the plastic body, Scaglietti realized that steel was better than laminate. The 308 remained a part of the Ferrari product range until 1985, and was always evolving. It was an icon throughout its life!

This 308 GTB was delivered to Lübeck via Auto Becker in October 1977. It has a sensational colour combination of black paint and beige seats. The first owner opted for air conditioning, for which one can be grateful to this day. He put 30,000 km on his Ferrari in the first ten years, and another 7,000 in the years that followed – all this is documented in the service records. He transferred the GTB to his 25-year old daughter in 2000. It stayed in the family until 2007, when a collector came to Austria. That collector later gave it to a friend, the consignor. The consigner was formerly a racing driver, and had the corresponding expectations of a vehicle. For this reason, he had the Ferrari undergo a complete service in 2015, from the timing belt to the chassis. The writer of these lines was not only impressed by the black racer, but fell in love with it. Model, colour, condition, history, driving characteristics: everything about this 308 GTB is perfect.
