Left-hand drive Woody, even more beautiful than in its original condition?

Morris presented the Minor, co-engineered by Sir Alec Issigonis (father of the Mini), back in 1948. The company extended the range to include an estate version, called the Traveller, in 1953, whose defining feature was its rear body superstructure. It was made of wood and fitted with two wing doors. A 1,098 ccm engine was mounted in the Minor in 1962, giving the Morris punchy but efficient motorisation. Production of the estate version did not end until 1971, but by then the wooden superstructure tended to look extremely frumpy.

Known affectionately as the Woody, this Traveller was purchased by the consignor with a view to commissioning a complete refurbishment in England. His plan was to build a super-smart Woody that would be fun to drive and thoroughly versatile. So he commissioned a British specialist for Minors to complete an overhaul that by far exceeded run-of-the-mill maintenance. It would take too long to list all of the standard work performed by the specialist. The car was converted to left-hand drive, and even the wooden superstructure was refurbished. The interior was entirely remodelled, so nothing remains that would be reminiscent of an affordable compact car. The Morris was granted individual approval for Austria in 2010. Overall, it is a lovable and consummately attractive vintage car that is entirely suitable for everyday use and is certain to please with its practical value.
