1968 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 FHC Series 2

1968 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 FHC Series 2 - Classic Cars

For more than 20 years in Austria!
Matching Numbers!

Back to the model year 1969, the E-model got its first major facelift after 7 years. Critics railed against the loss of its downright sportiness, owners praised the increased "practicality". These models could be recognized on the outside due to their larger ventilation openings, the new lights and the taillights now installed under the new bumper. The E-models never fail to fascinate!

This early E-model from the second series was completed in accordance with the present Heritage Certificate on September 25, 1968, eventually embarking to New York on October 14. Its first owner there was Serge D. Battisetti. The consignor brought the already restored Jaguar back home to Austria after a holiday in 1995, leaving it here. In 2000, he parted from his E-model, regretted it, and bought it back a few years later.

Even today, the Jaguar is in excellent condition, and has only driven 4,500 miles since its move. An invoice from 2015 is evidence that the car has undergone a large amount of service and the starter has recently been replaced. The paint on the hood was not quite able to tolerate the heat and this is also reflected on various points. Otherwise, the E-model has been a thrill for more than 20 years after its restoration with its charming patina! The left-hand drive, two-seater coupe shifted by hand is already far ahead of the second series on the popularity scale!
