Provenance: Collection Anton Schmid (1904-1991), Vienna.

Andreas Roller was active as a painter of theatre decorations in Munich since 1823, lateron he was in Vienna (at the Josefstadt theater), and from 1833 onwards at the Imperial Theater in in St. Petersburg.
