In autumn 1888 Alfons Mucha studied at the Academie Julian in Paris and worked in the studios of Jules Levebres and Jean Paul Laurens. In addition to his studies he designed illustrations for newspapers such as "La vie populaire" and "Le Figaro illustre".
We are grateful to John Mucha, Muchafoundation, Prague for the confirmation of the authenticity on the basis of a photograph.
