Trained as a landscape painter under Carl August Lebschée and Moritz Lotze, and influenced by Dutch 17th century landscape painting, Adolf Stademann’s artistic endeavours were primarily focused on depicting winter scenes. His earlier works in particular were also significantly influenced by Eduard Schleich the Elder’s night scenes. His precise observations and handling of light and colour were in keeping with contemporary tastes. The artist’s works are held in collections including the Neue Pinakothek in Munich.
