The Italian painter Giulio Carlini is especially known for his historical paintings, showing scenes of the Venetian history. The official painter of the Italian kingdom portrayed historical luminaries like the Austrian general Josef Wenzel Radetzky von Radetz and the French emperor Napoleon III in London. During his journey through different European countries Giulio Carlini stayed a longer period of time in Germany and Austria
