The architects König and Feldscharek designed a "Boulevard from Vienna to Dornbach" in the early 1880s. They planned representative buildings along todays Hernalser Hauptstrasse and the nearby Alserbach brook. Rudolf von Alt frequently executed the figure staffage in architectural designs.
