The attribution to Giuseppe Nicola Nasini was suggested by Prof. Nicholas Turner. The composition of the drawing goes back to the altar painting by Pietro da Cortona for St. Peter in Rome. The study may have been executed during the Roman period of Nasini between 1681-1686.
