1972 Lancia Fulvia Sport 1.3 S Series 2

1972 Lancia Fulvia Sport 1.3 S Series 2 - Classic Cars

The car presented here is a rare collectors item with a Zagato body. Launched at the end of 1965, the Sport was the third version of Lancia's Fulvia. It was designed for Zagato by Ercole Spada as a more aerodynamic Fulvia with a lightweight aluminium body. The second series Fulvia Sport 1.3 was launched in 1970 and featured an all-steel body instead of the lightweight aluminium one. By the time production stopped in 1972, Lancia had only built 2,600 of these extremely extravagant coupé's. The Zagato presented here was first registered in Italy on 29 October 1972. The Italian vehicle documents for this Fulvia show that it had only three owners since 1990. It was imported into Austria in 2013 by the latest keeper who purchased it while on holiday. At the time, the Sport was already in its current condition, the fantastic thing about which is that it features all of the original badges and bumpers, as well as the original Zagato seats and steering wheel. The electronic rear window is also in perfect working order. The fact that this coupé features the original steel rims indicates that the previous owner wanted to emphasise this Lancia's iconic design status as opposed to its sporty qualities. While its aesthetic appeal is a matter of taste, there can be no doubt that this Lancia is a very rare sports car, built by one of the world most legendary car manufacturers, and that it is awaiting its next owner!
