Jean Claude Mouchot studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1847 onwards. He was a student of Drolling and Belloc. In 1865 he exhibited the first time at the salon and sjhowed a series of views from Egypt and Venice. The painting “Une Dahabieh sur le Nil” was exhibited at the salon in 1877.
