Provenance: Private collection, Germany.

Hieronymus Greff was a form cutter and painter who was active in Frankfurt und Strassburg around 1500. Around 1502 he edited a copy of Dürer‘s Apocalypse with the title “The Secret Revelation of John” in Strassburg. The leaves of this Apocalypse each bear the monogram “JF” with cross, the monogram can most likely be associated with “Jeronymus von Frankfurt”. The monogram was also linked with an attribution to Johann van Franck, Jakob Meydenbach and Mathias Grünewald once. Splendid, contemporary impression, minor defects regarding preservation, on the whole in good condition.
