We are grateful to Professor Jan de Meere for his assistance in cataloguing this work. Frederik Marinus Kruseman The Dutch landscape painter studied with J. Beckers, N. J. Rosenboom and B. C. Koekkoek. He educated himself on numerous travels through Germany and Belgium, and spent the end of his artistic life in Brussels. The artist’s works can be found in the museum at Courtrai and at the New York Historical Society, amongst others.
