We are grateful to Dr. Anna Orlando for her attribution.

Malò was a student of Rubens in Antwerp and was most successful as a painter during his sojourn in Italy. In terms of his master’s influence, the present painting is comparable to Rubens’s Death of Dido in the Louvre, Paris.
