"Ein mächtig großes Bassin, weit überwölbt von tropfsteingezierten, schön geschwungenen Felsen, das Wasser ein wallender Himmel, dessen blaues Licht die Decke darüber zauberisch erhellte. Am hochroten Saume, der rings von Seetieren gebildet, alle Ränder der Grotte, spielten die Farben aller Edelsteine." (A mighty big basin, vaulted by widely curved rocks ornated by dripstone and the water a falling sky whose blue light illuminated the ceiling magicly. The highly red seams, built by sea animals and the edges of the grotto played the colours of gemstones (from: August Kopisch, Entdeckung der Blauen Grotte auf der Insel Capri).
