Johannes Jacobus Maria (Jan) Bogaerts: Pupil of A. G. Schull and Antoon van Welie in ‘S-Hertogenbosch. From 1904 to 1905 the artist was active in Teferingen, then Voorburg, and from 1922 in Wassenaar. He was a member of the Pulchri Studio and St. Lucas, Amsterdam. Bogaerts mainly painted still lifes, valued particularly for their detailed representations, as well as landscapes, flower paintings and portraits.
