Provenance: Private German collection. Franz Reinhold was a pupil at the Vienna Academy under J. Mössmer, Th. Ender and F. Steinfeld from 1830 to 1840. From 1834 onwards he travelled frequently through the Austrian Alps, often with his close friend Friedrich Gauermann.
