Carlo Bossoli: In his youth Bossoli was active in Russia, and in England as court painter to the queen. He later lived in Turin. He undertook many journeys throughout Europe and the Orient. Most of his works are stored in his villa in Turin and in Turin’s Museo Civico, including 105 paintings in tempera which take as their subject matter the military and political events of the years 1859 to 1861.
