Literature: Hans Wolfgang Singer, Zeichnungen aus der Sammlung Friedrich August II. in Dresden, no. 79, Munich, Holbein Verlag, 1921, p. 4, no. 148, full-page colour reproduction, as an autograph work by Albrecht Dürer. According to the findings of a technological examination conducted by Prof. Dr. Mairinger, the present painting dates from the first half of the sixteenth century.
