(Rome 1697–1773) attributed to Landscape near Tivoli with waterfalls and Temple to Vesta, in the foreground people in discussion, oil on paper marouflaged, 41 x 53 cm, framed

Provenance: private collection, Padua. Anesi enjoyed great success with the collectors of Rome and Florence with his idyllic landscapes. He looked to the work of Giovanni Paolo Pannini in his depictions of ruins. In 1761 Anesi was working with artist colleagues on a fresco cycle for the Villa Albani near Rome.
