The landscape painter, Bernhard Gottfried Manskirch was court painter to the Prince Elector of Trier, Clemens Wenzeslaus of Saxony in Koblenz from 1769. In 1788 he became a member of the painters’ guild in Cologne. He produced decorative landscapes in the style of the Dutch painters of the 17th century.
