Italian school, early 17th century
A faun playing the panpipe and two putti with timbrels, pen and brown ink, over black chalk, brown wash, on laid paper, 8,2 x 12,2 cm, mounted, unframed, (Sch)
The composition of the present drawing was amply inspired by an engraving of Agostino Veneziano „Dance of Fauns and Bacchantes” (Bartsch XIV, S. 203f, No. 250) and may derive from a North Italian artist of the early 17th century.
