1938 Chevrolet ½-ton Pickup

1938 Chevrolet ½-ton Pickup - Classic Cars

Original vehicle featured in Brandauer’s movie “The Strange Case of Wilhelm Reich”

Chevrolet launched a new truck series in 1937. The 1938 model was already equipped with a modified grille, and for the last time with a hinged windscreen. Their indestructible nature made these small trucks with 112-inch wheelbase a common sight in the countryside for decades.

The previous owner happened upon this track in 1998 while holidaying on a farm in Oklahoma. Buying it on the spot, he shipped it to Austria, where it was registered. Besides its original parts, he was thrilled by the incredibly solid condition of the body and interior. Indeed, the pickup’s body remains essentially pristine. The engineering was refurbished, and the motor overhauled in Austria. This Chevy was Klaus Maria Brandauer’s automobile in his final theatrical release in 2012. Before being brought in for auction, the tyres were replaced and the truck inspected. This small Chevy delights with its wealth of details, turning the truck into a thoroughly lovable toy. Equipped with heating and a windscreen wiper, the truck is still kitted out for the most important jobs. Whether it’s for hard work as an advertising medium, a fun-mobile, or as a workhorse for the garden and DIY – this ½ ton pickup remains ideal for the wild adventures of everyday life.
