A Biedermeier Salon Chandelier, - Works of Art

so-called snake chandelier (‘Schlangenluster’), attributed to the Danhauser’sche Möbelmanufaktur c. 1810/15, wooden frame in the shape of a bowl, wired for 8 lights, gold painted and partly silver painted, 8 volute arms in the shape of snakes wrapped around each other, applications on the bowl in the shape of floating putti with garlands of flowers, hanging from supplemented chains with rosette, upper finish in the shape of the kneeling goddess Hebe, height c. 92 cm, dm. c. 75 cm, traces of age, with supplemented parts, without guarantee for electrical fitting.
