Emanuel Thomas Peter entered Vienna’s architecture school at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1818. He occupied himself very soon with miniature painting and became a pupil of Moritz Michael Daffinger whose numerous moniatures he copied with great care and delicacy. After a sojourn in Silesia Peter returned to Vienna in 1830 where he remained until his death and worked as a well reputated miniature painter.
