The present work is a repetition of a composition ascribed to Jan Thomas van Yperen (sale, Christie’s, London, 26 October 1984, lot 83). Another version was offered in the Galerie Moderne, Brussels, 26 February 2019, lot 262 (as ‘École Française, 17ième siècle’). We are grateful to Bert Schepers for suggesting the attribution to Jan Thomas van Yperen.
