1946 Wurlitzer 1015 „Bubbler“

1946 Wurlitzer 1015 „Bubbler“ - Wurlitzer & Co

Jukebox production had ceased at the Wurlitzer factory in 1942 when the US entered World War II. Already in late 1945 a new model, the Wurlitzer 1015 was presented. Wurlitzer had launched an advertising to promote its comeback and sales of its new model. The design of the so-called Bubbler again came from Paul Fuller (1897-1951). Many regard it as the peak of his work the Wurlitzer company. At the same time it marked the beginning of the end of a jukebox design era. New Wurlitzers would soon look a whole lot different.

The 1015 could play 24 shellac records at 78 rpm, one side only. Production spanned over to 1947 and a total number of more than 56,000 were made, a record high in Wurlitzer’s history. The price tag in 1946 read $480.

This example has visibly been restored in the past and converted to 220V and still presents itself in good cosmetical condition. However, we have not tried if it works and therefore it will be strictly sold as is, without any guarantee for functionality.
