1977 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL

1977 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL - Classic Cars

Austrian first owner with 93,000 original km!

Internally, Mercedes-Benz referred to their intended pagoda successor as the R 107. The presented it in Geneva in 1973 as the 350 SL, side-by-side with the 450 SL. As a result of the energy crisis, Mercedes only offered the 280 SL with the proven M110 double overhead cam as of 1974. The R 107 stayed in the product line-up until 1989 with few optical changes. This makes it the longest-running Mercedes model and, thanks to its popularity, a perennial favourite.

This 280 SL was delivered to the Vienna Mercedes dealer in January 1977. It came with the equipment options for a demonstration vehicle and was registered as such for five months. The car was chic in the classic metallic silver, and had a four-speed gearbox, fabric seats, crank windows and a coupé roof, not to mention the rare back seat bench. Its first and only owner registered the vehicle in Vienna on June 7, 1977. To this day, the SL only has 93,266 km on the clock, backed up by the meticulously kept service book and information card. In the meantime, it has been repainted in places and the owner had an air-conditioning unit installed and added the spoiler from the 500. This car excites from every angle with its originality and history. The Mercedes underwent extensive service in 2015 and, after almost 40 years with the same owner, is now waiting for a new home that is just as caring. Try to find another with this history!
