1951 Citroen 15 Six

1951 Citroen 15 Six - Classic Cars

Rare six-cylinder Traction avant!

The 15 Six, with its six-cylinder motor, first appeared in the spring of 1938. It was based on the 11 CV Normale from 1934, but had wheelbase that was 11 cm longer. This was required in order to accommodate the 2.9-litre six-cylinder engine. This model earned the title "Queen of The Road" thanks to its combination of luxury, handling and power.

The consignor acquired this 15 Six from France in 1997. The vehicle was restored in 1995/96. Photo documentation provides evidence of that work. A passionate driver, the owner had Roger Williams install a longer differential to protect the motor. In any case, the Six underwent countless technical improvements: homokinetic driveshafts, two-piece manifold, stainless steel exhaust system, H4 headlights and a transistor ignition, to name just a few. The braking system was overhauled in July 2016. This 15 Six also has delightful extras, including tinted side windows, hot water heating and a supertone horn. After 20 years, the restoration is still thrilling – same goes for the maintained, grandiose interior. The consignor drove the luxury Citroen regularly, and has also taken trips with it. The vehicle proved stunning on the test drive. The "Queen of The Road" still excites; the title is doubtless appropriate. The Six was imported with the original special tools and replacement parts. Whoever can do without the glove box, but not without music, an install the original radio instead.
